I’ve been doing research of places I want to see, what hotel to book, what experiences I want to have, and I think I need a longer vacation to see it all! Of course we want to spend as much of our time with our daughter, but I am going to make this a bit of a working vacation as well. During my research I came across a website that has me pretty excited.
Ateljé Råbygård is located outside of Lund, Sweden and is run by Per-Ola & Solange Arvidsson. They opened for business in 2011 a ceramic art studio, organic bakery, and B & B on their farm. 15 artists work in the studio during their free time, using various techniques, throwing pots and making sculptures with stone clay. They offer courses in ceramics and courses in the bakery as well. They offer various events and pizza nights!
Of course, all of this piqued my curiosity so I had to email Solange, who has replied she will be available to show us around the farm! I would love to experience all they have to offer by staying for a few days but I’m not sure we will be able to manage it this trip. We do hope to visit one morning while Zoee is in class. Be sure to watch for more information about Ateljé Råbygård. In the mean time here is the link for their website. http://ateljerabygard.se/in%20english.html Doesn’t it look like an awesome place?
Zoee has several restaurants she’s anxious for us to try – Indian, Greek, and… I’m not sure what else she has in mind. I love trying new foods! I think its fun to experience as much of the culture as you can when traveling. Not just seeing the tourist sites (although I plan to see those as well), I want to immerse myself in the experience. Go where the locals hang out, and get off the beaten path. And just think of the stories I’ll have to tell when I get back!!! Wish I could take you all with me but I guess we’ll have to settle for daily blogs while I’m over there.
